After more than 30 years, Jim Tucker has finally decided to take things a little easier and has retired from the practice that still bears his name.
Jim joined the practice way back in 1978 when James Callaghan was the then Labour Prime Minister and believe it or not Ipswich Town won the FA Cup. As you can imagine Jim saw many changes over the years, both to the dental practice and to Biggleswade.
Jim is now spending his retirement fly fishing and walking which he has always enjoyed but of course he now has the time to do much more of it. He will be shortly moving out of the area to Shrewsbury with his wife Sue.
But nothing stands still at the practice and we now have a new partner in Hema Dhingra. Hema actually worked at the practice for seven years before becoming a partner with Bob Ballard.
Hema has taken over responsibility for all Jim?s patients as well as continuing to care for her own too. Hema is married to Sumit who is an Opthalmic Surgeon who has recently opened a new practice in Peterborough, they are proud parents of new baby boy called Rishi.
Hema qualified from The University of Wales College of Medicine and Dentistry and has worked as a Clinical Director in a corporate dental practice. She has a special interest in managing nervous and anxious patients ranging from children through to the elderly. Hema has a very caring and empathetic nature and is always willing to listen to and understand any individual patient needs.
Hema said “I want to do everything I can to make sure that all our patients not only receive the very best treatment, but that when they leave, they feel their visit to the dentist has been a pleasant experience.”
